About the Clippers: The Clippers on Jan. 17 ended a 12-game losing streak with a win over Milwaukee, but they followed that with losses to Minnesota and the L.A. Lakers. It has been a lost season for the Clippers, who have been devastated by injuries. Three prominent starters are in the midst of a long stretch on the sideline --guard Baron Davis (13 games, bruised tailbone), forward Zach Randolph (15 games, sore left knee) and center Chris Kaman (28 games, strained arch in left foot). Also, reserve Mike Taylor broke his right thumb Dec. 23 and won't be back until late February.

If there has been a bright spot, it has been rookie point guard Eric Gordon, who scored 41 points Friday in a 107-104 win over Oklahoma City. It was a franchise record for a rookie, and the most scored by a rookie in the NBA this season.

Series history: The Clippers won the first meeting 120-112 in double overtime Dec. 12 at the Rose Garden. That ended the Clippers' three-game losing streak to Portland. Davis hit a three-pointer at the regulation buzzer, and Randolph had 38 points for the Clippers, who were aided by four missed free throws in the final 20 seconds by Blazers guard Steve Blake. All-time, the Blazers hold a 126-59 lead, including a 50-43 record at the Clippers.

Injuries: The Clippers' Davis, Randolph , Kaman and Taylor are out. Center Marcus Camby (sprained left ankle) is questionable. The Blazers will be without guard Blake (right shoulder) and forward Martell Webster (left foot).
