
Tracking Blake's record-setting first quarter
Trail Blazers point guard Steve Blake registered 14 assists in the first quarter of the Blazers' 116-87 victory Sunday over the Los Angeles Clippers, catapulting him into team and NBA record books. It was the most assists in NBA history in the first quarter and tied for the most in any quarter --San Antonio's John Lucas recorded 14 assists in a game on April 15, 1984.
Blake also set team highs for assists in a quarter and assists in a half.
Terry Porter owned the franchise mark for a quarter (10 on Nov. 25, 1991) and shared the record for assists in a half (13 on Nov. 14, 1987) with Rod Strickland (13 on April 5, 1994)
