Jeff Pendergraph, F, 6-9, Arizona State (second round) -- If Blazers let veteran Channing Frye go, Pendergraph could have excellent shot at making the club next season.
Dante Cunningham, F, 6-9, Villanova (second round) -- He'll get a shot to battle Pendergraph for a spot in the Blazers' roster.
Patty Mills, G, 6-0, St. Mary's (second round) -- Blazers expected him to go much higher than No. 55; could earn the No. 3 point guard position.
FREE AGENT FOCUS: The Blazers have four free agents, including F Channing Frye, who is restricted. It's unlikely F Michael Ruffin or C Raef LaFrentz -- who will probably retire -- will be back. Portland hopes to have $6-7 million room under the salary cap with which to sign a free agent.
PLAYER NOTES:
--Restricted free agent F Channing Frye, who would make $4.3 million next season under a qualifying offer by the Blazers, could be retained, let go or used in a sign-and-trade. Odds are he won't be back in a Portland uniform next season.
--Pritchard said the Blazers intend to place a cap hold on three players who will remain in Europe next season -- former draft picks F Joel Freeland of England and G Petteri Koponen of Finland, along with Spanish F Victor Claver, taken in the first round of Thursday's draft. They will account for about $2.5 million collectively in cap space.
--F Martell Webster is recovering from the left foot injury that kept him nearly all of last season. He is shooting and doing a lot of walking, but not yet running. Blazer coaches hope he will be ready for informal scrimmage sessions in September and October training camp.
