Portland Trail Blazers Roster Report 2009-02-01

Portland Trail Blazers Roster Report 2009-02-01
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Sergio Rodriguez, Shooting guard Brandon Roy, Small forward Nicolas Batum, Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge, Center Greg Oden. Bench -- Forward Travis Outlaw, Guard Rudy Fernandez, Center Joel Przybilla, Guard Jerryd Bayless.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Rudy Fernandez had a hand in several highlight plays, including the lob pass for a dunk by Joel Przybilla. There was a skip pass through traffic to Brandon Roy for a layup in the second quarter, and Fernandez was on the receiving end of a pair of lob passes from Sergio Rodriguez -- one for a reverse layup and the other for a dunk --in the third period. Fernandez made 5 of 7 shots from the field, including 3 of 4 on treys, and had 13 points and four assists in 25 minutes.

--G Sergio Rodriguez made 4 of 6 shots and collected nine points, seven assists and a pair of steals in only 19 minutes. He made a fabulous no-look, over-the-shoulder pass to Joel Przybilla for a slam in the third quarter.

--F Nicolas Batum had one of his most productive games of the season. The rookie small forward scored 16 points and made 4 of 5 3-pointers.

--Portland's bench outscored the Utah reserves 48-19. Six Blazers scored in double figures, and all 12 players scored for only the third time this season.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Steve Blake (shoulder) could return for the New Orleans game Monday night.

--F Martell Webster (foot) will get his boot off in another week. Barring complications, he is expected to return in early March.

--F-C Raef LaFrentz (shoulder surgery) is rehabbing at his home in Des Moines, Iowa.
