PLAYER NOTES:

--F LaMarcus Aldridge had trouble with his shot all night, making only 6-of-17 shots from the field and 2-of-5 from the line. But he had 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals in 38 minutes and did a nice defensive job on Miami rookie Michael Beasley.

--G Steve Blake had a quiet night, but the veteran nailed a three-pointer with 25 seconds left that sunk Miami's final hopes.

--G Brandon Roy hit a couple of big buckets and free throws down the stretch, finishing with 22 points while making 10-of-13 from the line.

--G Sergio Rodriguez played his first meaningful fourth-quarter minutes of the season, going most of the way in the final period as Portland held off the Heat. Rodriguez was 2-of-2 from the field and contributed five points and five assists in 19 minutes.

MEDICAL WATCH

--F Martell Webster, (stress fracture in a foot) hopes to return to duty by mid-December.
