
--G Brandon Roy will be on the sidelines for up to two months after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on Aug. 14 to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Roy might be ready for the Blazers' Oct. 28 opener.
--Nate McMillan's three-year commitment to the U.S. Olympic team ends in a couple of weeks. Next summer, "I'm going to hide and get away from basketball for awhile," the Blazer coach joked. --Last season, Trail Blazer home games were shown only on Comcast sports cable network; those not hooked up to Comcast were unable to get the games. Portland president Larry Miller said the Blazers "are doing what we can to prevent that from happening again," trying to help Comcast make a deal with other cable and satellite providers.
"I'm optimistic, much more so than I was three of four weeks ago," Miller said.
