--Portland wound up with the 13th pick in the June 26 draft, as GM Kevin Pritchard's lucky charm -- 10-year-old daughter Kendall -- didn't work at the draft lottery May 22 at Secaucus, N.J.
--Pritchard said the Blazers are considering eight or nine candidates for the assistant coaching position vacated in April when Billy Bayno left to take the head-coaching position at Loyola Marymount. "We're still interviewing, still in the process of getting inquiries," Pritchard said. "We should have somebody in the next couple of weeks."
--Among the players who could be there for Portland at No. 13 in the draft: forwards Donte Green (6-1, Syracuse), Nicolas Batum, (6-8, France), Darrell Arthur, (6-10, Kansas) and Joe Alexander (6-8, West Virginia) and center DeAndre Jordan (7-0, Texas A&M).
QUOTE TO NOTE: "Don't know yet. It depends on if we can get a trading partner, but also if there is a guy we have targeted, and that's our guy." -- Portland GM Kevin Pritchard, on whether the Blazers will try to trade up from their No. 13 first-round pick.
