--On Tuesday, Brandon Roy missed his first nine shots from the floor and finished with a weak 14-point performance against the Lakers. On Friday, the all-star guard was superb, collecting 26 points, five rebounds and seven assists in just 35 minutes.
"Felt good to do that, because I was extremely disappointed with my first game," Roy said. "I wanted to do whatever I could to come out and help this team win (Friday night). I was trying to rebound, get assists, scrap -- lead with my effort, not just scoring. I did a better job of that (Friday)." --LaMarcus Aldridge was Portland's other driving force, going for 23 points and five rebounds, often matching up against the Spurs' Tim Duncan.
"LaMarcus was hitting big shots all night," Roy said. "That's what we expect from him. This was a big game for him. Any time you do it against Tim Duncan and the Spurs, it does a lot for your confidence."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "Some people might ask why is it a big deal? When I came to the NBA, they were the mark. I feel like if you can beat them in a four-quarter game, that says a lot about your ballclub." Third-year guard Brandon Roy, on his first career victory over San Antonio.
