--LaMarcus Aldridge had another great offensive game with 22 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high seven assists. Aldridge -- who has scored 20 points or more in eight straight games -- had 14 of his points in the first quarter and was 11 of 18 from the field.
"LaMarcus was really good tonight," coach Nate McMillan said. "He keeps showing improvement and learning how to play in the post position. He's seeing the double-team and kicking the ball out to the right guy, and he's making shots." --Steve Blake had a big game with 15 points, 11 assists and one turnover in 35 minutes, getting all of his points in the second half and seven of his assists in the first quarter. The Blazers' point guard was three of four on treys in the third quarter.
"Blake in that third quarter -- those were just big threes," McMillan said. "He found his rhythm. Steve played a real solid game, did a great job of taking care of the ball."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "(The Clippers were) the type of team you want to destroy their confidence by the half. We didn't do that, but we still got the win." -- Portland forward Martell Webster.
